Improving our chemical products to make them more sustainable for the planet is one of the premises of our ISTOBAL esens line. Thus, our chemist’s laboratory team has developed a new product formula for the maintenance of osmosis equipment that reduces the hazard to the environment. Thanks to this improvement, the new Reverse Osmosis Membrane Protector has lost the “Environmental Hazard” label.

This product replaces the previous Reverse Osmosis Biocide in our portfolio. As well as being more sustainable, this new product is not classified as harmful to people and has also gone from being classified as very toxic for aquatic organisms to simply harmful.

The Membrane Protector is recommended for reverse osmosis equipment that is supplied with water without pre-chlorination or with intermediate deposits between chlorinated mains water and the osmosis equipment. Remember that reverse osmosis or demineraliser equipment is used in car wash facilities to obtain high-quality water and to prevent white spots from remaining on cars after the drying process.

The absence of chlorine in the circuit through which the water passes before entering the osmosis equipment means that bacteria can proliferate and settle on the membrane surface of these systems, thereby blocking them. If this happens, the rate of quality water production decreases, so the Membrane Protector product is crucial to prevent this blockage from occurring.

The use of this product increases the durability of the membranes and ensures that the conversion rate of high-quality purified water is adequate, resulting in a stain-free finish. Now, thanks to the change made to this product, we obtain the same result, but are also more respectful of the environment.
